TAKE CAUTION!!!!!
Keep in mind that tides are fundamentally a wave. Water is moving with great speed, going up and down as well as side to side (tidal current). A whirlpool is a rapid spinning body of water, that usually take place in shallow passages connecting two bodies of water that have different tidal cycles. One of the most famous whirlpool is the Maelstrom, located off the west coast of Artctic Norway, This whirlpool along with others is the cause of deaths within marines along with destroyed ships, due to the turbulence. The larger the tidal difference between the two bodies of water and the smaller the passage, the greater the vortex caused by the tidal currents.
